Very few people know that when the Babe started his pro career that he was a pitcher and then was moved to the outfield. As a Red Sox Babe was a two- time 20 game winner. He was also involved in a combination no hitter in 1917.
Babe Ruth during his career used to wear cabbage under his hat to keep his head cool. No other players adopted this method and he was the only one to ever do this.
Former Red Sox owner and American theatrical agent, the producer and director Harry Frazee sold Ruth and several other players to the Yankees on December 26, 1919 and, according to sports legend(Babe Ruth), he did to finance the production of a Broadway musical.
